India Plans Transparent Model for Fighter Jet Procurement

New Delhi, India: To avoid past procurement controversies, the government is considering a transparent model for acquiring 114 multi-role fighter jets for the Indian Air Force (IAF), which faces critical shortages. Initiated in 2019, the process prioritizes indigenization and technology transfer. The IAF urgently needs these jets to reach its sanctioned 42-squadron strength.
